About

Trevor Hawkins is recognised as one of Australia’s foremost angling artists and illustrators. Although noted for his trout paintings, his work also features the plants, insects and other animals that inhabit the natural environment where trout and other fish are found.

Trevor R Hawkins

Fishing, particularly fly-fishing and the lure of the countryside have been a constant in his life for as far back as he can remember.

For over twenty years he owned and operated a successful printing company in Melbourne, Australia. During his time he also successfully exhibited his landscapes and abstracts in a number of commercial galleries.

Since selling his printing business in 2009 Trevor has lived everywhere from the Snowy Mountains to the central Victorian goldfields where he has spent his time painting, writing, snow skiing, hiking and of course flyfishing.

In 2012, Trevor and his wife Tracey moved once again to a property in Paynesville, on the Gippsland Lakes in Eastern Victoria where they intend to settle permanently.

Trevor is currently the managing editor of the prestigious, twice yearly magazine, FLYFISHER, to which he also contributes articles, paintings and photographs.

His articles and illustrations also appear in FRESHWATER FISHING MAGAZINE and SPORTFISHER MAGAZINE, published by the Australian Fishing Network.

He has also illustrated numerous other magazines and books by various publishers and currently has a book he has written on fishing and hiking in the Snowy Mountains in production.
